What to include in a freight quote request
October 11, 2026Having the following ready before you book saves time with your supplier and at customs.
Documents from your supplier
- Commercial invoice. Seller, buyer, description of the goods, quantities and value.
- Packing list. What is in each package, with weights and dimensions.
- Supplier details. Name, address and a contact person at the origin.
Product information
A clear product description and, if you have it, the tariff (HS) code. Your customs broker can help you confirm the right code.
Packing
Ask your supplier for sturdy cartons, goods on pallets where possible and every package clearly labelled. Freight passes through several handling points, so packaging matters.
Requirements by product
Rules vary by product and origin. Ask us what applies to your cargo before you book, and send us the details through the contact form.
